Changing Land is an exhibition of works by Ngan Leong Cheung and Katrin Jaberg who traverse new and native lands and re-imagine them through painting. The narratives and surrealistic quality in Cheung’s paintings are captured by puppets moving in an assembled landscape, and experiments with the impasto technique of applying thick paint. Drawing from the impressionist tradition and still-life paintings, fluid and delicate strokes mark the tension of development in Jaberg’s works, inviting viewers to gaze at the process of experiencing an object in space.
